Well, at least that was one of the titles we proposed for this story. We were approached by South Brooklyn’s own Overflow Magazine to do an interesting concept. See, there are these girls in our neighborhood that have become wildly successful with a business they have started called Twig Terrariums. They find all manner of interesting glass container and build a little moss ecosystem inside complete with a whimsical figure involved in some form of “outdoor” enjoyment. The project called for shooting the terrariums, shooting the couples, and retouching them in digitally. The one big hurdle was asking these ladies to replace their fishermen, newlyweds, and kite flyers with all manner of fornication cooked up by yours truly. Well, we were no more than 2 minutes into explaining ourselves when a terrarium was presented from the shelf behind us showing a lovely moss and rock garden with a lucky miniature gentleman enjoying a lovely miniature lady from behind bent over the rock. It was clear from that moment on that our creations would be playing oh so nicely with their creations. Well, the issue has finally come out and we are so very pleased to present to you our first published work. Now, the images shown here are outtakes, you will not see these in the magazine. To see the story, either go to Overflow’s online magazine or be fortunate enough to be spending some time in one of South Brooklyn’s many fine (non-chain) stores and pick up your free copy. (If you email them and ask REALLY nice, I am sure you can convince them to send you a copy ;).
Hope you enjoy our dirty dioramas and please, be careful not to smudge the glass ;)
