Our interview with Nerve.com -

Recently we took a few moments to answer some questions about what we do from Nerve.com. This was exciting to us since we have been fans of Nerve since way back when they were still a print magazine (Eric had actually had his “modeling debut” in Nerve ;)
Our thanks to Nerve.com, Tommy Kearns for introducing us to Kelly Bourdet who took an instant interest in our work. Special thanks to Katie Hakala for such a wonderful interview that really had us examining ourselves and work in ways we had previously not. Enjoy :)

XOXO,

Constance & Eric

From torture to tickle

Though ominous looking, a pinwheel can deliver delightfully delicate butterfly kiss when applied gently.

The Great Gaspy

Take a look at some vintage vibrators we shot for Babeland in their SoHo location.
At close to 100 years old these ladies personal home “massagers” are the next generation of home remedies for hysteria (a fabricated ailment used to describe sexually frustrated women).

Prior to that, women would go to their doctors office and be brought to orgasm, first by physicians hand, than as time passed (and carpel tunnel became an occupational hazard) machines were introduced to the professional medical market. It wasn’t too long after that these became sold direct to the customers so they could enjoy “a variety of health and beauty benefits” all by themselves.

Interesting to note that the top vibrator is only 2 years older than the one underneath it yet shows a remarkable progression in aesthetic design. Even then, it looked like the expansive adult toy market we enjoy today was inevitable.

AIDSwalk NYC 2013 Team Constance & Eric

AIDSwalk NYC 2013 has been successfully completed! The crowd was awesome and the rain felt kind of fitting in light of the bias based violence that has shook our otherwise tolerant city. From 8:30 - 2:30 we walked in the rain with over 30,000 other people (which is roughly 1/7th the number of New Yorker’s who have died of AIDS). Once all of our donations get in it looks like we will have raised about $4,000, but, the money was not the most important part. The most important part was the message we all sent. The crowd was an accurate representation of NYC’s diversity and the numbers were substantial. The bodies marching on regardless of weather, hopefully, in some small way, shows the world that this is not an issue that should be guided by big pharma companies, this is an issue that effects everyone and as such, should have a solution that is available to everyone. We have this virus on the ropes but we can’t back off. Thank you so much to everyone involved, everyone on our team, everyone who donated. Each in your own way’s you stood up and said loud and clear that you cared and that you wanted to be counted as such. We are very much looking forward to next years walk and one day explaining to our daughter that AIDS was not always just like diabetes

Not all equality symbols are created equal ;)

Since the equality symbol has become the new internet meme (for better or worse), we decided to make our own version with just a little bit more spice to it, what do y’all think?

AIDSwalk NYC 2013

Over the years we have been fortunate enough to meet so many wonderful people and share with them the passion that is our work all while doing our part to create a healthy, sex positive world. In this message, however, it is not us who will be sharing, we ask that it be you. Sunday, May 19th we will be participating in the NYC AIDS Walk as the team “Constance & Eric”.  For us, the AIDS crisis came about at an age when we were just beginning to develop our sexuality. It affected family, friends, and the very fabric of our societies’ sexual landscape, eventually leaving no facet of humankind untouched. Ours was the first generation to not know what it was like to live from under the shadow of this virus but today we look at our daughter and realize that her generation has a very real chance of dancing in the sun again. That she will regard AIDS no different than diabetes is not a mere possibility, it is actually happening NOW. These are very, very exciting times we are living in. Research, medicines, treatments, outreach, are just a few of the weapons that have been used to successfully fight. Today we ask you to keep this cause armed and more powerful than ever. Please, visit our page on the AIDSwalk NYC site —-http://awny2013.kintera.org/faf/search/searchTeamPart.asp?ievent=1052727&lis=1&kntae1052727=5D3DEF555AA74A93858C6FF49BDA067E&team=5485175&tlteam=0—- and consider a donation, or even better, join our team and walk alongside us and thousands of others giving their support. There are some great gift prints and even studio time that we are offering to show our deep gratitude for all the help we get.

Thank you so much for your time and please  realize, we are ALL making a difference.

Constance & Eric
